The Indianapolis American Cancer Society Guild was founded in 2012 and is comprised of talented, philanthropic women from the greater Indianapolis area. The Guild supports the Central Indiana office of the American Cancer Society by generating awareness, raising funds and providing support for community outreach programs to achieve the shared goal of saving lives by helping people stay well, get well, find cures and fight back.
WHO WE ARE AND WHAT WE DO
The IACS Guild has successfully planned and hosted the annual Indianapolis Discovery Ball for the past six years. During this time, almost $3 million has been raised to support the advancement of new discoveries in the diagnosis and treatment of cancer. In addition, our members work within the community to provide cancer patients and their families with day-to-day support including educational and emotional support, rides to treatment and many other resources.
In addition we have developed a way to give back if you are short on volunteer hours and too busy to physically support our mission. You can give $100 a month for twelve months by joining the ELITE 100!. For a little more than $3 a day, you can help support our cause.
The Discovery Ball is one of the premier gala events of its kind to be held in the country. This one-of-a-kind evening, features great food, dancing, a spectacular auction, and much more. Save the date for November 7, 2020, to attend the 10th annual Discovery Ball to help the American Cancer Society save lives by helping people stay well and get well, by finding cures, and by fighting back against cancer. Visit the Discovery Ball website for information on sponsorships available, volunteering or purchasing tickets.
Supporting American Cancer Society
One of our goals is to ensure that the American Cancer Society continues to reach its financial goals. One way we contribute as a women's Guild is by holding Revenue Enhancers for the Discovery Ball and Fundraisers throughout the year. Even in the current crisis, we are hosting 'virtual' fundraisers. Cancer won't stop and neither will we!
The Guild participates in various short-term projects to assist the community, cancer patients, and survivors. Our projects include collecting headscarves and helpful items to included in gift bags for individuals undergoing chemotherapy.
if interested in supporting projects.
Treat Others as You’d Like to Be Treated
The Guild enjoys getting together to celebrate one another and the work being done. Whether it is meeting for dinner, making scented candles, picnicking at Connor Prairie, and listening to music, there is always something fun on the social agenda.
